Went to Home Depot the other day, with a trainer friend of mine. She was taking a rottie out and about to work on appropriate people greetings. Blue Moon and I tagged along. Met some Home Depot employees, and Home Depot customers, practiced loose leash walking and general good manners, lots of treats were dispensed - a good experience. Found out later that a woman who was in the check out line got a glimpse of us by the front door, got out of line, tracked down the manager, and demanded that he kick out the scary pit bull from the store cause someone might get bit by said dangerous dog. Oh my, really??
i've had people run screaming at the very sight of one of my dogs being calm and happy, and others run right up to one that was leaping and barking, hoping for a hug and a kiss (which they often enough would get). at this point i have no idea what any one person will "see" in my dogs or how they will react. but for the next few days all i'm going to see is bunny ears. what a fantastic picture! although the model doesn't seem very pleased :)
ReplyDeleteBwaaahaha! Sounds like Scary Customer should have been kicked out! Said "Dangerous Dog" seems like a Gentle Bunny to me!
